A prominent city businessman has told Stabroek Business that he believes the local private sector umbrella bodies ought to be doing more “to publicly highlight the challenges that are affecting the efficiency of the private sector” while “doing as much as they can to work with the government to respond to those problems”.

National Hardware buys Liliendaal land for $600M - to invest over $2B

National Hardware Limited (NHL) has bought 103 acres of land located south of the Convention Centre at Liliendaal from the Privatization Unit (PU)  for $600 million and is expected to use the land for housing, recreational and commercial purposes.

Four companies ink Amaila Falls deal in China

The Guyana Government and China Development Bank yesterday signed off on a loan deal that will pave the way to start Guyana’s single largest project ever, the Amaila Falls Hydro-Electric Project (AFHEP).

Finance Minister, Dr. Ashni Singh, yesterday during a sitting of the National Assembly yesterday, described the signing as “historic.”
