Pakistani High Commissioner pays courtesy call to GCCI

High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Guyana, H.E Miangul Akbar Zeb, on Tuesday June 15, 2010 paid a courtesy call on the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).

During his visit, High Commissioner Zeb met with President of GCCI, Mr. Komal Ramnauth, and Senior Vice President of the Chamber, Mr. Eon Caesar to discuss possible areas of collaboration between Guyana and Pakistan.

National Competitiveness Strategy will benefit business sector

Fair competition is one of the core characteristics of a healthy business sector. It keeps the playing field level, prevents monopolies and forces businesses to court their customers with continuously improving products and services.

The executives of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) apparently share the same sentiments. The GCCI usually offers a presentation of topical interest to its members every year at their annual business dinner. This year was no different as they called on the National Competitiveness Strategy Unit to deliver the feature address on Friday last at Le Meridien.

GCCI courts potential investors … unveils Investor’s Guide to Doing Business in Guyana

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Friday night marked another milestone in its 100-year history when it launched its very own business magazine.

The magazine titled “Guyana Business – An Investor’s Guide to Doing Business In Guyana” is to be an annual publication by the GCCI, for free distribution. The target audience is the large pool of foreign investors that pass through international airports and hotels around the world. The Chamber’s intent is to distribute the magazine as widely as possible. On Friday, the organisation called on all members to further this goal.
