THE Georgetown Chamber of Commence and Industry (GCCI) last Friday launched its Annual Business Awards 2011, with a cocktail reception at the Georgetown Club in the city, where Prime Minister Samuel Hinds was special guest.
Others joining the executives and members of the GCCI in celebration were members of the Regional Private Sector Commission and the business community, as well as business representatives from Suriname, among others.

GUYANA and China yesterday inked a $30M RMB grant agreement that would see funding for a number of projects still to be decided on. Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh signed the agreement on Guyana’s behalf, while Minister of Commerce of China, Chen Deming, signed on behalf of his country.
THE Guyana/China Business Council is concluding arrangements for the Guyana contingent to join the rest of the Caribbean’s business community at the 3rd China-Caribbean Economic & Trade Forum to be held next month in Trinidad. The two-day business forum, on September 12 and 13, is mainly focused on establishing business partnerships between Caribbean and Chinese entrepreneurs.
