The Fire Advisory Board {FAB} in collaboration with the Guyana Fire Service {GFS} and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry {GCCI} have designed a programme aimed at sensitizing the business community on the importance of fire safety and fire prevention issues. This seminar forms part of the ongoing program that the FAB has embarked upon and will continue to conduct such sessions in a strategic manner.

This one day seminar/workshop will be held on Monday, November 29th 2010 at the GNS Sports Complex, Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown commencing at 8.30hrs and is fully sponsored by THE HAND-IN-HAND INSURANCE GROUP OF COMPANIES.

Among the subject areas to be covered will be:

  • Fire Safety and the business community
  • The role and responsibility of the business community in Fire Prevention
  • Basic issues in fire prevention
  • The use and operation of fire extinguishers-practical demonstration.

This program was developed and designed to prepare the business community to deal with the unique challenges that are very common during the busy festive season and targets senior administrators and proprietors of businesses in and around the city. Most of these issues are present in our usual everyday lives but are more pronounced during the busy commercial seasons.
